MY THOUGHTS ON PLN
I have been developing my personal learning network the day I became serious about my college education. I have been developing an attitude of learning my whole college career, but I only had one goal and that goal was to just graduate and get a degree and that was it. I have matured over the years and have become more goal-oriented and also more focused on enhancing my career. I'm a Graduate Student now and also a management employee at a technology-driven company. Technology plays a role in my career and also my everyday life. My PLN is not very large right now, but I do plan on expanding it while I'm in Graduate School and as I continue to advance in my career. I plan on using Social Media as .a tool for me to network my skills and to communicate effectively. I have never been a fan of Facebook, Twitter, or Instagram but things are changing so I see its time for me to adjust. I also plan to use more tech tools that are out there to increase my understanding of computers and how they work. So I don't know about anyone else but I'm ready to learn and expand my personal learning network. I also found Steven Burrough's blog interesting I see where things became beneficial to him in his career when he started to expand his PLN. I think my personal learning network will continue to grow and expand on a daily basis as long as I am willing to learn new things and be receptive to change.

The Social Media Revolution
My first impression of the Youtube video was very alarming but also very informative. I was surprised that 1-5 couples meet online. What happen to meeting face to face and interacting with each other to see if we have the same interests, or am I so out of touch with whats really going on?
I'm not a facebook fan and I may be the only one in my large family ( real large my mom has 20 siblings) that does not have a facebook account. It was very alarming that 1-5 couples end in divorce because of facebook. What happen to commitment? The facts for the Ford explorer ad did not surprise me. I had the privilege of driving one for two weeks on a business trip and I have to say I was extremely impressed.
The Youtube video by Mr. Qualman caught my attention when it says that 40% of the fortune 500 companies will no longer be here in 10 years. I work for a company that has been around for over 100 years so these type of Stats may bother the average person, but I don't consider myself average and I truly understand who my source is.

I have one last thought to share. The video stated that 69% of parents are friends with their children on social media. Here is a picture of my boys, Darion my 14 yr old and Joshua and Caleb my 8 yr old twins
I believe my job as a father is to have a great relationship with my boys, but my ultimate responsibility is to teach and train and love them unconditionally so that they can be productive men in society.
